Meaningful engagement with Bolton people has been a priority for NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) right from the early development of our organisation. We aim to put the patient voice at the heart of every decision we make.
We want to give Bolton people more influence and control over the decisions we make. This means working hard to reach those who wouldn’t usually get involved, as well as any groups who may find it harder to get their voice heard.
Let’s Make It
In 2015, the CCG launched a new and exciting way of engaging with the people of Bolton called Let’s Make It. The idea behind Let’s Make It is to have a more informal conversation with local people so we can find out all about their experiences of using NHS services and help us make things better. To find out more and to get involved, visit the Let’s Make It website.
Ways to get involved
From time to time, the CCG carries out engagement and formal consultations to give Bolton people the opportunity to comment on our plans or proposals.
There are lots of ways to get involved…
• Come to a CCG board meeting
Our board meetings are held each month in public and members of the public who attend are able to ask questions at the start of the meeting.
• Join the Equality Target Action Group (ETAG).
ETAG helps the CCG to consult with different community groups in Bolton about equality and inclusion in health services.

• Join Let’s Make It Happen
Let’s Make It is all about working together to help shape the future of Bolton’s NHS. We can’t do this on our own - we need to hear your ideas, views, and opinions! Join the Let’s Make It Happen people bank to receive regular updates and news on opportunities to have your say. Let’s Make It Happen is led by Bolton people so you can be involved as much, or as little, as you want.
• Invite the CCG to speak to your group or organisation
We regularly speak to local community groups and organisations about any campaigns we are running to make sure people know how they can get involved and help their local NHS. Please get in touch if you would like the CCG to come along to your meeting or event.
