Become a community champion
Got what it takes to be a community champion?
Find out more at a free webinar from 2.30pm to 3.30pm on Friday, 23 April.
Bolton's Community Champions scheme was launched just over a week ago and has already had applications from people who are keen to volunteer to take part. These 'community champions' will share the latest vital and factual information about Covid-19 in their local communities - and feedback any concerns or issues.
The webinar will be a chance for people to learn more about what's involved, how their local community will benefit and the training opportunities available. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to give up your time to support people in your local community!
Groups can also find out how they can get involved, and how to apply for funding from Bolton's Fund to take part.
Suzanne Gilman, Bolton Council’s Assistant Director of Public Health, said: “Our work on this new programme is well under way and we are delighted to have received such a great initial response to the Community Champion roles.
“It is the work of such dedicated and enthusiastic residents that will really help Bolton to tackle this virus and protect our residents, including those most at risk.”
More information is also available on the the Community Champions website.
